Prakruti Thakor

My name is Prakruti which is another word for Nature. It is because of that or something else, I do not know for sure, but I have loved nature for as long as I could remember. I am a daughter, a wife, a daughter-in-law and much more in the eyes of the society.

Oh! Doing a bio is very hard when you are an artist, sometimes you just don’t know what to write, and no matter what you write, it always seems inadequate. My parents wanted me to be an Engineer and perhaps I have become one, I have mastered the art of engineering my life around painting. haha…

I struggled through a lot of “study period” in my life which could have killed my love for paintings but maybe as it’s said in Gujarati proverbs, something inherited can never be lost if your heart truly yearns enough for it. I genuinely enjoy being with others and making friends. I love travelling to new places and learning about the specialties and cultural differences, perhaps it is base of my paintings too. I started painting as a child and it has continued till now.

I inherited the “ARTIST GENES” from my mother and father who are wonderful painters themselves, but coming from a working class family they had to make a lot of make do to give us all the things we needed in order to grow up, perhaps my mother could have been a wonderful artist given that she had the resources I got. <3 I love my family and my husband so much. My love for painting can never be complete without them. Without them the dream of being an artist would be only half a dream. I enjoy cooking good food and spoiling them too!! ;)

If I could I would possibly want to live in the renaissance era. I adore science and art both. Someday I hope to make some paintings related to that.

I guess that will be it for now. I don’t know what to write anymore!!
