Thalia Pitti
Student, Musician, and Artist in New Haven, Connecticut
My name is Thalia Pitti and I am passionate about using the arts to empower others and advocate for social justice. In ninth grade, I designed a pin for my school’s GSA for “ally week” which was worn by those who wished to express their solidarity with LGBTQ+ members of the Watkinson community. This same year, I joined the Creative Arts Program (CAP) as a musician. Though I have dabbled in visual arts, I consider myself first and foremost a performer; I have taken part in several plays at Watkinson, including “The Crucible,” in which I played Putnam and have performed in the upper school chorus as an alto and written songs since the beginning of my high school career. I have been a frequent at Musical Intervention, a nonprofit that specializes in music therapy, since my sophomore year, where I have performed at several open mics, headlined the summer showcase, and taught a ukulele workshop.
