Beginning with his unconventional business education as a grade schooler in the Chicago area, Thane Ritchie has carved a path for himself as a lifelong entrepreneur. His career milestones extend across various sectors, interests and endeavors that have taken him to the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, Chicago Board of Trade and even the NFL gridiron. Today, some of Thane’s specialities include hedge fund management, acquisitions and trading and mergers.

One of Thane’s earliest lessons in business came the Chicago Board of Trade served as his sixth and seventh grade education. When he returned to traditional classroom education, Thane tested three levels above eighth grade. In addition to excelling in the classroom, Thane’s football prowess began to bloom while attending Plano High School.

Originally enrolled at Duke University, Thane would earn a walk on position with the university’s football team. However, he would transfer to his local Wheaton College, where he stood out as a tight end and linebacker. His efforts would not go unnoticed. After graduating from Wheaton, Thane would play on the practice squad for the Chicago Bears and Pittsburgh Steelers. In 2007, Thane Ritchie was inducted into the Wheaton Thunder Hall of Fame.

In the 1990s, Thane Ritchie’s career shifted from the gridiron to finance. In the ensuing years, Thane would return to work at the Chicago Board of Trade and Chicago Mercantile Exchange. These additional experiences made him ready for his next endeavor, Ritchie Capital Management. RCM’s success enhanced Thane’s acumen as an investor and hedge fund manager. Today, Thane Ritchie continues to focus on the growth of RCM and other personal endeavors that includes work in media, politics and charitable endeavors.
