Thaneswari Asathamby

A communications executive by day, a cupcake connoisseur by night and an enigma overall. And when she isn’t all that, she is a pen-wielding freelance artist/designer. Esh is a self-taught artist plagued with the constant desire to not only create but also enjoy and appreciate art.

Her works are tricky to classify, as they are reflective of her current moods, often switching between whimsical, quirky and morbid. She draws inspiration from music, pretty women and sometimes even a random word or phrase. Her better ideas are often born as doodles on bar napkins or the moleskine notebook she carries in her handbag. She has an unhealthy obsession with drawing masses of swirling, flowing hair. Esh enjoys experimenting with a variety of mediums, but a good black pen is decidedly her favourite weapon of choice. Majority of her artworks are hand-drawn, some of which are digitally completed.

Esh Asathamby lives, works, creates, bakes and hangs out in local bars and movie theaters in the sunny island of Singapore.
