Dr. Thang Tran

Thang currently works as a consultant for one of the world's largest consulting firm in management/technology/outsourcing. He received his Dipl.-Ing. and Dr.-Ing. degrees from TU Dortmund University, Germany. Thang was working as a head of the "Emergency Response Management and Wireless Robotics" research team at the Communication Networks Institute (CNI), TU Dortmund University, Germany. During his employment at the Nokia Research Center (NRC) and CNI, he gained wide experiences in mobile networks. His research focus included the design and performance evaluation of energy-efficient vertical handoff/handover (VHO) solutions for seamless service provisioning (e.g., Cloud Services) in a heterogeneous network environment. Moreover, he was also working on novel Federated Identity Models (FIM, Identity & Access Management) and Single Sign-On (SSO) solutions for distributed safety-critical emergency information systems. He is member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and its German sister organization VDE/ITG and has served as a reviewer for various conferences and journals. He has published over 20 peer-reviewed publications during his intensive research time.
