What’s up, I’m Kevin. I’m a software engineer living in Arcadia, CA. I am a fan of technology, programming, and travel. You can view my repo with a click on the button above.

Strengths:

I have a get it done attitude. When a project I’m working on is around 80% done, I’ll just ship it out, as can be seen in my github repository. The code isn’t perfect but that’s the point. It isn’t worth debugging a small little bug and trying to untangle some little puzzle. I have my eyes on the goal and reverse engineer what I need to do to get my project out the door to ship things.

I’m also very consistent when it comes to writing code. In coding, there are hundreds of different way to write code and hundreds of ways to refactor the code. I had to learn this through experience as a software I was writing with my friends became so unmanageable due to the fact that we were all writing code different ways. And trying to get that code to interact with each other and reading code of others became just so hard. That’s why I now keep my code as simple as possible to avoid crashes and bugs and allow others to easily be able to read my code which helps me ship products more quickly.

Collaboration is another one of my strengths. When I first began programming, I did a lot of things on my own and I wanted to be that lone programmer that felt superior to the rest. However, over the years, I’ve learned that this isn’t the correct way to program and once I started working with others more, my productivity skyrocketed. I’ve worked with other people’s code, pulling in frameworks, and integrating my code with other people’s code. It’s great I learned this early and I believe this will be an extremely useful skill in bigger corporations.
