Logging Supervisor Biography – Senior Contractor with JML Forestry

  • With over two decades in the forestry industry and nearly a decade under contract with JML Forestry in Yukon, Canada, I bring a lifetime of experience, hard work, and leadership to the field of sustainable logging. My journey began long before JML, having worked with three other logging companies across Canada where I built a solid foundation in every aspect of timber harvesting—from hands-on felling and equipment operation to managing crews in challenging environments.
  • For the past 9 years, I’ve proudly served as the Senior Contractor and Logging Supervisor at JML Forestry. My current contract, which ends in three months, has been one of the most rewarding chapters of my career. At JML, I’ve had the opportunity to lead skilled teams through complex harvest operations, manage safety protocols, and uphold environmental standards that reflect the company’s commitment to responsible forestry.
  • Throughout this time, I’ve trained new recruits, many of whom have gone on to become trusted crew leads and valuable assets to the company. Building and working with such a reliable and hardworking team has been one of my greatest achievements. Together, we’ve operated in some of the most demanding terrains in the Yukon, ensuring productivity while always keeping safety and sustainability at the forefront.

As my contract approaches its end, I’m now beginning to look toward retirement—a well-earned next step after years of dedication to the trade. While I’ll be stepping back from the daily grind, I remain committed to supporting the next generation of forestry professionals and sharing the knowledge I’ve gained along the way.
