the HR Engineer
I founded Human Resources Engineering in 2009, at a time when the recession forced many companies to stretch the extra mile.
The companies that truly thrived in the greatest recession since the great depression were those who had solid relationships between senior leaders and employees and took strategic risk in new initiatives and efforts without any real assurance it would work.
Human Resources Engineers are professionals who are called to master this business development process and work with 2 additional constraints
- Use as much resources from the communities in the ecosystem of the company
- Minimize the resources the company must allocate to solve the challenge, ideally use none
Developing solutions that solve challenges requires time and resources. Leveraging the support of the community reduces time and resources required for developing a possible solution.
Examples of businesses:
- Wikipedia, relies solely on the community's support to survive and not on advertising $ and is as accurate as Encyclopedia Britannica
- American Express when it launched Open Forum, the Social Network for Small Business Owners who were AMEX customers
- Facebook is free to its customers. It relies on revenue from advertisements, never charging the customers who use it, unless you buy the virtual currency, facebook credits
