Before I came to UGA, I actually spent two years at St. Mary's College of Maryland. It is a small school in southern Maryland. The reason I originally chose that school is because I was recruited to play D3 baseball. Coming out of high school, it did not matter to me where I went to school. Since I was given the opportunity to play baseball, I thought I might as well continue. While I made some of the best friends I still talk to today, I quickly found that St. Mary's was not for me.
I was fortunate enough to play during my first year splitting time, however things would drastically change. During the summer going into my sophomore year, I tore my labrum on a jet ski. While this was only supposed to be a minor setback, I ended up missing the whole spring season. Throughout my whole injury process, it opened my eyes to the fact that I did not like where I was. I got to a point where I did not like going to practice and it became more of a chore for me to show up. Along with this, social life was nowhere near my preference. Things moved at a much slower pace than I was normal to coming from a city area.
Noticing I needed a change, I started looking at many schools across the country. Among a bunch of personally set criteria, I landed on UGA as one of five schools that I applied to. With many complications occurring with each of the other four schools, it seemed as if all roads led here. I believe that making the decision to transfer to UGA is probably the best decision I have made up to this point in my life.
