Uddipan "Udi" Sarkar is an Indian film-maker, poet, script writer, columnist, lyricist and activist. He is basically from West Bengal. He forayed into writing around his mid school. Since 2010,he started to seriously consider it as a passion. Udi finds his inspirations from the society, people and nature. He often drives away to distant places and prefers to be a Lone-wolf.
His reclusive journeys gives him the creative impetus needed. He is also known for his eccentricity and sarcasm. It is pretty evident from his poems, lyrics, scripts etc. He is also an ametuer journalist. He has also had some controversial brushes for his critical attitude towards the Government at Bengal.
He has been part of indie film circuit in Bengal for last three years. His directorial debut "Nirobota : A Piercing Silence" is coming soon. He also debuted as an actor in the film. He is a regular contributor/columnist in indianperiodicals.com (an online magazine). Udi is also writing his first novel "Your's truly-Eli D'Souza".
Apart from his creative aspect, he is passionate about cooking. He loves dogs.
