Alexandra Rodriguez

I am a Senior at Purdue University majoring in English Education with a minor in Communication and a Reading concentration. One of my many passions is help others learn and to gain some knowledge and experience in the process. To do this I am involved in several organizations that are aimed at student development and helping others in the community. I was a member of the Student Orientation Committee for Boiler Gold Rush 2011, where my focus was the leadership development of approximately 500 student volunteers throughout the year, on the Training and Development Committee. I have served on the Foundations of Excellence in the First College Year Committee at Purdue as well as being a Student Ambassador and Tour Guide for the Purdue University Visitor Information Center, a Purdue Promise peer mentor, a mentor for international students with URGlobal, a 2011 Purdue Homecoming Queen Candidate, Junior Achievement volunteer and instructor, and a Summer Study Abroad participant. My current involvements include Purdue University Dance Marathon Morale Committee member, Kappa Delta Pi Educational Honors Society member, Golden Key member, Study Abroad Ambassador, National Education Association member, Purdue Student Education Association member, and a Purdue Student Education Council member. I am currently student teaching in the Fall of 2012.
