The Acting Corps

Eugene Buica created The Acting Corps in an effort to provide intensive, qualified training to professionals in Hollywood. Eugene Buica boasts more than two decades of experience teaching actors of all levels, and he draws upon highly regarded methods of the acting profession in designing the unique programs at The Acting Corps. The most effective components of the Michael Chekhov Technique and the Meisner Technique are examined in every program at The Acting Corps, including the Actors’ Boot Camp. Comprising four weeks of daily acting classes, the Actors’ Boot Camp teaches the basics of cold reading, scene study, and more. Graduates of the program have the opportunity to expand their skill set in the Actors’ Boot Camp II at The Acting Corps. Spanning eight weeks, these classes teach students how to apply the knowledge gained in the first course while introducing on-camera technique and the fundamentals of show business, such as building a résumé and obtaining quality pictures.

The Acting Corps supplements these two courses with an Advanced Program consisting of two classes a week over six months. Only actors currently in the audition process may enroll in the program, which provide more than hands-on instruction; the Advanced Program also includes Professional Showcases, which afford students the opportunity to perform for industry professionals; Works in Progress, a monthly acting event conducted by students for The Acting Corps faculty; and ample networking opportunities. Students in each program also gain access to The Acting Corps’ Daily Acting Workout, a daily hour-long session where skills can be perfected.

To provide a comprehensive acting education, The Acting Corps employs professional working actors to instruct each course. This allows students to receive firsthand training and exposure with people intimately involved with the production of movies, plays, television series, and more. In addition to their impressive acting résumés, the instructors at The Acting Corps have received training at celebrated institutions across the country, including Yale University, Webster University, Princeton University, and the University of California.
