When you are born a Parsi and are a concoction of Surti and Pre-independence Lahori blood there is just a sense of madness in your upbringing. Memories exist of Sunday afternoon waltzes being carried in my daddy’s arms singing away to the smell of Dhansak and Kababs. Story time on the dinner table everyday of the week as the night was never short of them and I was never late for school. It turned my mind into a vault of stories. Stories of magic, poetry, war, romance and good food. How could I not be a dreamer? and believe in the tales I was told. How could I not fly, when I was taught to fly with wings of gold. Growing up my life lessons were simple, Be Good - Be True and Always Be In Love. For when you are scared just eat Mora Dal Chawal and Jelly for dessert. I am Parsi - I am proud and I will always be hungry for good Parsi food. My second blog www.laishacooper.wordpress.com is a dedicated to my book In Between Corridors written when I was 22 where stories are told through passages of poetry describing the lives of seven people all intertwined in the energy of the world. The book elaborates that every person has the right to make their own choices and all opinions lead to a pair of doors. Only our choices lead us to or from the entanglement.
