Communicator. Connector. Technophile. Francophone. Pragmatic problem-solver. As a human factors wonk, I am concerned with effective interactions between people and their systems, always looking for the balance between efficiency and human well-being.

I am confident, easy-going, eager to help, open to new experiences, well organized, reliable, considerate and agreeable. I have excellent computer skills and learn quickly, which has made me comfortable with rapidly changing technologies and communication tools. I know how to build a community, as well as capture and integrate new patterns of influence to inform and engage with clients and supporters.

As a team member, I choose carefully when to speak up and assert myself. I have no trouble with leading the way, but I am just as willing to provide support to others on the front lines. Last year during intensive training at the Kansas Leadership Center, I embraced the idea that leadership means mobilizing people to make progress on difficult work. Engaging others toward a common purpose is challenging and risky, but I love it.

Wichita was home for about two decades before I left for France and Los Angeles. I returned with a wealth of knowledge and experience on which I have continued to build.

Currently I am employed as communications director for a 37-year-old local company founded by a family of restaurateurs who hired me to help them facilitate a major transition, build up their customer base and launch a new restaurant concept. The process has been fascinating. I enjoy working with a team of people where my contribution is valued and we realize a powerful vision together.
