Communicator. Connector. Technophile. Pragmatic problem-solver. As a human factors wonk, I am concerned with effective interactions between people and their systems, always looking for the balance between efficiency and human well-being.

Since January 2023, I work at the communications manager for the Kansas Leadership Center. I'm responsible for executing communications and marketing efforts to advance key organizational initiatives, including leadership training, civic engagement, community partnerships, business development, research and publications. The KLC maintains a presence on many online platforms to engage with a broad audience, and I keep up with them all, synchronizing each one with a rhythm that keeps pace with our constant stream of activities and news.

Through the course of decades of employment ranging from advertising agencies to wholesale to serving as executive director of a worldwide industry association, I have found the most joy when working with a group of people where my contribution is valued, and the team realizes a powerful vision together. I have a solid reputation as a connector and strategic problem-solver who can communicate vision while delivering excellence.

Wichita was home for about two decades before I left for France and Los Angeles. I returned with a wealth of knowledge and experience on which I have continued to build. I currently serve on the board of NonprofitGO and recently stepped off board of the League of Women Voters Wichita-Metro. In the past I have served on the boards of Wichita Professional Communicators, Kansas Interfaith Action, and the Music Theatre Wichita Guild. I am fairly fluent in French and have basic skills in Spanish and Italian.

I've set up accounts on BlueSky, Threads, CoHost, WT.Social and Mastodon as both @thecindykelly and @cindykelly (two different accounts), and CounterSocial as @thecindykelly. But honestly, I log into only the usual places and Threads at this point, for a least a few minutes daily. Yes, even Twitter which I refuse to call X.
