hey im Sarah, the person behind The Clear Fortress. i started this brand after years of dealing with body acne that just wouldnt go away no matter what i tried. benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, antibiotics, expensive dermatologist visits, "clean" skincare brands that promised the world.. nothing worked long term. stuff would clear up for a few weeks then come right back worse than before.

i got frustrated enough to start actually reading the research myself. not blog posts or influencer recommendations but actual published studies on PubMed. and thats when everything clicked. i found out that most body acne isnt just a surface bacteria problem. theres this thing called biofilm that basically creates a protective shield around acne causing bacteria making them up to 1,000x more resistant to topical treatments. so all those products i was using were technically fine products, they just couldnt get through the biofilm to actually reach the bacteria. thats why they worked temporarily then stopped.

the other thing that completely changed my understanding was learning that up to 40% of what looks like body acne is actually fungal. its called Malassezia folliculitis and it looks almost identical to regular acne but antibacterial treatments literally cant treat it because its not caused by bacteria. so millions of people are treating the wrong condition and wondering why nothing works.

after going through over 47 peer reviewed studies on biofilm disruption, fungal misdiagnosis, antibiotic resistance, and skin barrier repair i developed a 3 phase approach. phase one disrupts the biofilm layer so treatments can actually penetrate. phase two targets both bacterial and fungal causes because most people have both going on. phase three repairs the skin barrier so the acne doesnt just come back again in a few weeks.
