The Communal Bowl
Miami and Broward
The Communal Bowl X™ was founded by Marjorie Chafa-Govha in August 1997. It was created with the intention of serving the runaway, homeless, and homeless youths a bowl of soup. It was born to target the less fortunate members of the society in the Miami and Broward area. The organization was started as an idea among caring friends who wanted to show their love for the less fortunate members of the society.
Initially, the original name of this great idea was Sweet Sandwich Tours™. After two years of extending a caring hand to the target group, some original members felt that it was necessary that the organization should become a fully fledged business. Sweet Sandwich Tours™ served the homeless, runaway and generally the homeless population, a sandwich and a drink on weekends. Sweet Sandwich Tours™ served sandwiches that were family secret recipes. It was then that one member decided to branch out and created The Communal Bowl X.
The Mission of The Communal Bowl X is to assist the community by serving a bowl of hot soup to the homeless population or anyone in need of food without asking anything back in return.
Our Vision is to take the concept of our specialty made soups to different cities.
