David Coolidge grew up outside Washington DC. He developed an interest in debate and public speaking at an early age. He was even named National High School Debate Champion. Around this time, David attended congressional hearings in DC and learned how the US government operates. Because of his passion, skill, and determination, David was selected out of thousands of applicants for an internship at the US Supreme Court.
David Coolidge's penchant for leadership and debating carried on throughout college. A figure in student government and residential life, David used his platform to stand up for the weak and underpriveleged. He refused to compromise his values in the face of obstacle, and never stopped fighting for what he believed in.
After college, David attended the Duke University School of Law, where he further honed his skills of persuasion. He was recognized in his freshman year for having the highest score in his property law and criminal law classes, and flourished in trial advocacy. David graduated in the top five percent of his class, and was awarded The Order of the Coif, a prestigious award that placed him in the companies of some of the country's finest lawyers, judges, and political leaders.
Outside the courtroom, David is a member of the NC Advocates for Justice, the NC Bar Association, the Wake County Bar Association, and the Wake County Academy of Criminal Trial Lawyers.
