The FAME Foundation
NGO in Nigeria
The FAME Foundation is a youth-serving nonprofit social enterprise that equips students in secondary schools in Nigeria and Africa with leadership values and skills-based learning to succeed at school and in life.
We tackle the quality of learning crisis by partnering with youth, schools, and governments to design and deliver education solutions that equip young people in Nigeria with the values and skills to lead themselves, overcome gender inequities, succeed in school, create change in their communities, and succeed in life.
By including an additional leadership and skills-based subject in secondary education, we can deliberately equip the next generation of youth with positive values and skills for the future to positively impact Africa’s economic growth and development.
Our flagship programmes are the FAME Global Leadership Programme, FAME Lead Project, and our Mentoring Support Services.
We aim to provide skills-based education to one million students by 2030 and to encourage positive youth engagement that will have a sustainable and far-reaching impact on the lives of young people. Since 2017, we have partnered with the education ministries in Oyo, Osun, and Jigawa in Nigeria. Our efforts have had a measurable impact on over 40,000 students in nearly 300 schools, and we have reached an additional 120,000 more broadly. This makes us one of the largest providers of youth skills in Nigeria.
FAME is committed to developing the leaders we wish we had in Nigeria, while also preparing youths to access dignified and fulfilling work after secondary school through the provision of high-quality secondary education and training.
Our Alumni change their lives and communities, such as Covenant, which opened a tech-driven education platform called Students on LinkedIn, which reaches thousands of undergraduate students monthly.
