The Farmeress in the Dell

My life and work for a disaster relief agency in NYC during 9-11

I'm the Farmeress in the Dell. I grew up a reluctant country girl on a farm in Northwest Missouri. Very likely one of the only 16 year olds in the quad-state area to subscribe to the New Yorker magazine in the late 80s, I was hell-bent on escaping my agrarian roots. I achieved my dream of becoming a published writer living, working and over-indulging in the excess, chaos and craziness that New York City does best. After a decade and a half as a New Yorker, including an adventurous three-year expatriot stint in Madrid, Spain, I did what I swore I would never ever, ever do...move back to the Midwest and live on a farm.
