The Federalist Tweets

The Federalist Tweets Project originated with a simple question: if the United States were being founded right now, how would the founding fathers advocate their cause? Two centuries ago, John Jay, John Madison, and Alexander Hamilton used a series of letters-to-the-editors, called The Federalist Papers to raise support for the ratification of their ambitious and unprecedented constitution.

This project is an attempt at repackaging each of the eighty-five Federalist Papers into 140 character tweets, preserving their messages but condensing them to reach a broad audience.

The Federalist Tweets is not an exercise in sound-bite-ization; it is an effort to remind Americans of the long and interesting history of our nation.
