Angela T. Tate is a writer, artist, and curator dedicated to amplifying the voices of Black women through history, art, and culture. Her work examines the intersections of labor, activism, and community, exploring how stories of resilience shape public memory.

She previously served as the first women’s history curator at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, where she developed exhibitions and programs that highlighted Black women’s contributions to social change. She played a key role in acquiring significant cultural artifacts and fostering new research initiatives.

Now the chief curator and director of collections at the Museum of African American History in Boston and Nantucket, she oversees efforts to preserve and interpret Black heritage. As a doctoral candidate at Northwestern University, her research focuses on media, diplomacy, and the African Diaspora.

Raised across California, Kansas, and the East Coast, she now divides her time between Boston and Washington, D.C.
