👋🏾 Hello, I’m Julia Joy

I’m a human, healer, and historian known as The Healstorian™.

❤️‍🩹 I dream of a world where people use stories to find their voice, speak their truth, protect their joy, and cultivate healing and reconciliation.

⚜️ I am a proud 10th-generation Louisiana Creole currently living in Delaware, The First State.

👦🏾 My greatest joy is being a mindful mom to my au-mazing son, who continually teaches me about love, patience, and seeing the world through new eyes.

🎯As an educator, writer, and lifelong learner, my mission is to encourage people to become critical thinkers, compassionate feelers, courageous leaders, and faithful servants who help build a beloved global community.

I believe education is about more than acquiring knowledge. It is about cultivating wisdom, empathy, courage, and connection so that learning transforms both individuals and communities.

My work explores the ways history, faith, and storytelling can transform pain into purpose, deepen understanding, and inspire hope. Whether I'm teaching, writing, researching family history, or facilitating meaningful conversations, my goal is always the same:

You’ll often find me enjoying long walks, soulful music, spicy food, sweet wine, Scripture and coffee, or getting lost in an epic story—whether in a book, film, podcast, or conversation.
