In my sophomore year of high school, I had a growing interest in technology which lead me to join my school's robotics team.

Robotics became a place where I knew that I could let my creative and experimental lights shine. I was the youngest member on the team, which was mostly made up of about 7 juniors and 4 seniors. As the only one who was an underclassman, I was the one who would lead the team one day, but for now I had to learn from my fellow teammates.

When my senior year came around, I was chosen as captain of my own team. This was the first year that our school had created more than one team. However, my team was the 'B-Team" which meant that we were not meant to win. The first problem that we had was that I was the only senior on my team and the majority of my team was made up of freshmen who had little to no experience of the competition. The second problem was that the class that had just graduated practically carried the team on their back, having the last students who knew how to correctly program the robot. This concluded that my team was inexperienced and that I was the only one with enough programming experience to figure out how to make the robot work correctly. After much hard work, I learned how to program the robot and ended up out-performing our school's "A-team." This would be known as the only year that my school would ever have a "B-team" that performed this well in a competition. Even our coaches told us that we were not supposed to do that well.

Now an undergraduate, I hope to continue doing the unexpected.
