Lynn Marshall-Linnemeier

I am a visual mythologist, a memory keeper. I live through the Journey Projects building large scale site specific artworks that speak to the ancestral memory of communities. Although I am based in Atlanta, I spend a lot of time in rural or what I like to call "toural" (agriculturally based communities that are evolving into tourist communities). I enjoy listening to stories, gathering photographs and just meeting people who have an interest in the arts and creative practice. I work with all ages to build the artworks, which are based on the Ifa Egungun masquerade. Ifa is a spiritual practice whose roots are found in Nigeria. I truly believe that if we endeavor to care for the earth and live in peace, it just might happen!!!

Current Journey Projects include:

The Ancestral Memory of Water,First Congregational Church in Atlanta, Georgia. Unveiling of the artwork will be October 6, 2012 from 6-9 p.m.

Redressing the Stone, Lithonia, Georgia, Unveiling December 2012
