Back in college, the greatest teacher I have ever had was coaching one of my classmates through a creative roadblock. This teacher said, very offhandedly, "You've got to be the grand marshal of your own parade." Well, I just about fell off my chair. Maybe it was because I love a good parade. Maybe it was because I was feeling a lack of control in my life shortly before graduating college. But those were the most powerful words I had ever heard. I've still yet to come across any phrase that hits me like that did.
My name is Kevin Bianchi - Kevin is fine, Kev works too. I grew up in New Jersey, doing as many creative things as I could get my hands on. Painting, writing, acting, photography - I did it all! After a few years in Pittsburgh for school and short gig living and working on a cruise ship, I ended up in the big, bad apple! (June Allyson, right?)
I've done a lot of jobs since I graduated college with my B.A. in Theatre Arts. I've worked retail, I've performed on stage, I've managed social media accounts, I've designed graphics and negotiated sponsorships for a podcast. Right now I work as a Marketing Associate for a theater space downtown. And I've succeeded at each job because I always keep in mind that casual suggestion from my favorite teacher: to be the grand marshal of my own parade.
And as the grand marshal of this parade, I've decided it's time to make a turn. It's time to move on to the next big thing, the thing that will turn my life in NYC into my LIIIIFE in NYC. I've got a very wide and adaptable creative skill set, all the skills and comprehensions one needs to survive in the workplace and a dry, sparkling sense of humor that's guaranteed to make your workday easier*. So let's work together! Join me in my special grand marshal car. Shoot me an email above if you think I sound like a good fit for the position you're filling. I hope to hear from you soon.
* I can't actually guarantee this, but give me a shot.
