T. J. Bila stage name DJ Thembaland is a talented young Disc Jockey (DJ). In 2006, he had an accidental chance at DJing and suddenly his accurate skills were apparent, in no time DJ Thembaland became a well sought after and choice of DJ for many Private FET Colleges in Pretoria. They said his skills were “off the chain”.

His first break into professional Djing came about in 2009 where he was invited to play at Mama mia. From there he’s been booked by many clubs and even became a resident DJ for Café concerto in 2011. He has played at super clubs like De-page, Zoom-Zoom and Zanzu. He has also played for top resturants in Pretoria like Rhapsody (Sunnyside) and Cappello (Sunnyside). Out of town demand for his skills arose and he has played @ Dinangwe in KwaMhlanga, Value meat in Witbank and some other popular spots.

DJ Thembaland has done his thing on popular models of CDJs and has played alongside prominent Club DJs like Garo da Silva – his best friend, Manu Tee, Gilberto and Pintosa. He spinned tunes of a variety of genres but his favourites are Hip-hop and ragga dancehall, yet he remains very slick with House and Kwaito. Even in getting lost into the music, DJ Thembaland remains sensitive to his audience and their demographics, hence playing and pleasing any crowd all the time from Weddings, Birthday parties through to holding down the night at any club.
