Greetings, my name is Melissa. I currently reside in Grantsboro, North Carolina. For the past 11 years I have been a waitress at a local Greek restaurant. I am attending classes at NCCU to further my education by working on my bachelor degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Corrections. I already have a 2 year degree from Craven Community College in the same subject with a certificate in Corrections and Law Enforcement Management. My dad is from New Bern, NC and my mother if from Cullman, AL. (Roll Tide!) I have one sister and I am a single mom with a goal to show my child that she can grow up to become anything she wants to be. As of right now she states that she wants to be a doctor and the President of the United States. I let her know every day how important she is. I want to show my child that hard work and determination pays off. She is, after all, the reason I decided to get a college education.

It is very rare that I get any free time, but when I do, I enjoy cooking/baking, swimming, watching movies, listening to music, gardening, being outdoors, and reading books. I enjoy helping others and believe that a smile can brighten someone's day.
