Michael Siegle, Ph.D.
I am "the michael;" dr. michael, that is. I'm retired and live in the beautiful Mountains of New Mexico, surrounded by the High Mountain Deserts full of flora and fauna of the Southwest. The Sky is beautiful out here. No pollution, other than ocasional smoke from wildfires from Mexico or other SW states, depending upon the direction of the winds. The Night Sky is the clearist I have seen anywhere! Being up in the Mountains, just short of 7000 feet, I hardly have to look up to see the gazillions of stars each night. They are all around me. I've, literally, walked through clouds at close to 9000 feet and watched storms come in below. breakfast. There is a healthy population of Coyotes in the area, led by Ryle E. Coyote, a distant relative of Wyle E. Coyote of Disney fame. And, sure, there are a few Road Runners around, though not many. They are fast, too, as they often have to out run Ryle E.'s group. Haven't seen any Jack Rabbits up this high, although there are plenty at the lower elevations, closer to 5000 to 6000 feet. They are big and have the big floppy ears, just like in Native American lore. It's a slower pace up here, though things do get done in their own time. There just doesn't need to be the pace of the big cities. No, we don't all have parasites and need to "siesta" every day after lunch, or to flush out our systems with green or red chile to kill parasites. Some of the chile can make the nose run, eyes water and create one hell of a forehead sweat, though. Sure can be fun to watch tourists eat our chile for the first time. Smoke doesn't really come out of their ears, but there are plenty of teared up eyes! Yup, water makes it worse, too. We aren't "city folks," or "flatlanders" up here. We aren't "mountaineers," either. We are New Mexicans from many cultures North and South of the US borders. Folks, literally come to NM from all over the world, but most of us are Anglos, Hispanics, Native Americans, and a few others added in. Makes for a diverse culture. A beautiful and diverse culture. Me, I received my doctorate just over 10 years back from an accredited university in an unaccredited field of psychology, transpersonal psychology. I've been able to do a little counseling until my health became completely restrictive a couple of years later.
My passion is Wildlife, specifically Wolves. We have much to learn from the Wisdom of Wolves; nothing to fear. Having lived with three Wolfdogs of various Wolf content from bigger to lower, and ha
