THE MINDFUL ACTOR combines mindfulness meditation, improv and sensory techniques to help an actor develop his or her unique instrument.

· The foundation of the class is based on providing a nurturing container to facilitate the actor's growth.

· This class helps students discover their creative expression through the written word (scenes and monologues) and engages their creative humanity with the various characters they work on.

Lori Lowe* (SAG.AFTRA) has been a professional actor for over 25 years. Lori directs and teaches in NY and CT. She recently completed her first full-length screenplay and will begin filming in the summer of 2016.

*LORI LOWE ( SAG-AFTRA) Lori’s acting career began at 10 years old. She has over 200 commercial, TV, theatre and film credits. Lori currently directs and teaches at her company The Mindful Actor which holds acting classes in CT and NY.

Lori’s credits range from the classic film Caddy Shack to the vintage soap opera Another World. She toured the east coast with Breakfast with Les and Bess starring Betsy Palmer and performed in Noel Coward's Hayfever at the Village Repertory. Her TV movie credits include NBC's The Asphalt Cowboy with Max Baer Jr. A protégé of Anna Deavere Smith, Lori is honored to have been an original cast member of Smith's On The Road, Actors are Madmen at the Ward Nasse Gallery in NY.

Lori directed the original, full-length Off Broadway play Beautiful Dreamer at the Pearl Theater. She directed the Student Performance Workshop at HM Acting. Lori also directs at the Axial Theater Playwright Reading Series in Westchester, NY.

Lori attended The American Conservatory Theater, NYU Film School and Upright Citizens Brigade in NYC.
