Librarian and Artist

I’m Naz. I’m a librarian, artist, and poet.

l am inspired by Michel de Certeau's The Practice of Everyday Life in engaging with the environment that surrounds me as an ordinary non-industry artist. My art is inspired by my interests in visual ethnography
originating from my studies in the field of anthropology.

My artistic eye is also inspired by engagement with Bengal Sahajiya Buddhism, the concept of Sahaja (spontaneous/natural enlightenment), and the Charyapada-Mystical Buddhist songs of contemplation through the natural world. In addition to Sahajiya Buddhism, l am also inspired by Lalon Shai's compositions and philosophy of his Bhaab Gaan (philosophical songs of existence and emotional dispositions) as an uninitiated follower of the Bartoman Panthi; those who follow the path of direct knowledge of the present through one's own senses.
