My love for fitness
At the age of four my parents signed me up for gymnastics and I stuck with it through college. I had the opportunity to attended Boise state university on a full ride athletic scholarship. My junior year I got married and we moved to Monterey California. I experienced a bit of an identity crisis going from full time student athlete to home maker☺ however, it didn't take long to find a new hobby; muay thai and life felt balanced once again. After a couple years of marriage we had our first baby and I was determined to find a balance between family and fitness. There were some days it seemed impossible to get to the gym and so I would just let it go, recognizing that the gym was there for my enjoyment and not one more thing for me to feel guilty about. However, having a set schedule definitely helps especially when juggling my kids' and husband's needs'. I feel extremely grateful to have a husband who has always been supportive, encouraging me to take that time for myself. It was February of 2010 when I stepped into my first crossfit gym. Up until then I had been working out at a regular gym always trying out their new classes, anything from spin, yoga or step aerobics occasionally hitting the weights with a work out I had seen in oxygen magazine. But after a couple months of crossfit I was hooked and there was no going back. One of the reasons I love crossfit so much is that it includes so many training aspects from different sports. It's an A.D.D person's heaven! There is no time for boredom because the work out is new every single day and unless one is doing a bench mark WOD (work out of the day) you'll rarely repeat them.
