Théo Cohan

Director of Catalytic Capital at the Milken Instit in Los Angeles, California

I believe meaningful change happens when people, ideas, and capital come together with a shared purpose.

As Director of Catalytic Capital at the Milken Institute, I work at the intersection of philanthropy, government, and private investment to develop innovative financing solutions that address complex global challenges. My work focuses on building cross-sector partnerships that help unlock capital for initiatives in public health, community resilience, and sustainable social impact.

I helped establish the Milken Institute's New York office in 2017 and returned to California in 2024. Along the way, I've had the opportunity to convene leaders from philanthropy, finance, business, and government to create practical, collaborative solutions that generate lasting impact.

Beyond my professional work, I enjoy writing about catalytic capital, community resilience, and innovative finance, exploring how thoughtful collaboration can improve lives and strengthen communities. Whether through my work, my writing, or the partnerships I help build, my goal is to connect people and resources in ways that create opportunities for a healthier, more resilient future.

When I'm not working, you'll likely find me skiing, sailing, or planning my next travel adventure.
