The One Roof

Our vision is to be the hands and feet of Christ,
connecting those impacted by disability -
individuals and their families - to both help and hope.

What we envision is the establishment of a "one stop shop"
for disability in Tampa Bay, to provide support for the spiritual,
practical, and social needs of the disability community
by engaging the local church, individuals, and the community
through academia, medicine, social services, and more.

The disability community lives with many challenges.
There is an 80% divorce rate among parents, major therapeutic
needs and expenses, pervasive cuts in government funding
to individuals or programs which subsequently impacts
daily living, community involvement issues, and challenges
within family dynamics and societal acceptance.

This underserved community, with its broad scope of needs,
lends itself to be a large mission field for the church, but the church
as a whole has not reached out, primarily from lack of knowledge
of the population and proper equipping.

The One Roof is committed in its advocacy in building awareness
within the church to the large group of people it is not seeing
and how to open their doors and engage them.

An important element that The One Roof will capitalize on to
amplify our missional outreach is community interest and involvement.
By bringing two factions together - the disability community and
a community willing to help - under the guise of Christ and His church,
we are confident that needed and relevant ministry will result.
