Mero Cocinero Karimi
Mero Cocinero Karimi is an Iranian-Guatemlan cook who learned all his recipes from his mother and travels around the world. Originally from San Francisco, he has hosted the comedy cooking experience The Cooking Show con Karimi & Comrades for 13 years. His role as an advocate for healthy communities through laughter and cooking has brought him to Alaska, Mexico, and everywhere in between. A frequent speaker on television shows and universities, the Associated Press called his show "a globally flavored recipe that packs some punch lines."
His current mission: The Diabetes of Democracy Project, aims to connect culture, cooking and community as he works to get people to reconnect to their cultural stories and rituals in his quest to curb Type 2 Diabetes.
