Non-governmental and non-for profit civil societies working in the public interest can be instrumental in the resolution and provision of aid during social crisis. Civil Societies are specially important during post conflict or humanitarian emergencies to allow the continuity of agreements on matters of human rights, peace and overall regional development, such organisations are especially key when their core values are of inclusion, political independence and equality.
Whatever the motivation there has been and there will be a civil society or individual willing to help in times of need. The problems we face as a global society are many: Children’s lack of access to health and education, violence against women, poverty, war, unemployment, etc.
The Power of I is an organisation that supports the principles and initiatives working for a more fair and just world. We wish to establish an active partnership and network with and between Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) at global and regional levels.
With this in mind we will be running personal profiles dedicated to the volunteers, social entrepreneurs, leaders, philanthropists and change makers. These profiles wish to explore their motivation and collect their experiences; we wish to highlight their work, their communities and the issues that their valuable work is addressing.
