My family and close friends call me Nikki. I'm a 37-year-old wife and mom.This blog will serve many purposes in my life, creative expression, the ability to share my thoughts and ideas with my readers, and most of all a bit of transparency. My immediate family knows that I rarely fall short on words in the comforts of my surrounds, however I tend to be extremely closed off and unwilling to "let" others into my world. Social media outlets are dangerous and I simply had no interest in them thus far. However, it's a new day and age and I like the idea of conforming to an extent. So onward and upward I go !

I am also a hair and beauty aficionado, my journey begin somewhere around the age of 17 to 18 years old possible earlier than that. I am an avid product junkie; cosmetics and hair care, if it's an intriguing marketing ad or campaign I'm listening and I'm definitely going to test the theory. I also have an insatiable appetite for the prettier finer or girly things in life ~ clothing, shoes, accessories, coats, socks yeah you get the point... Don't judge!?

More on My Background:

At the age of 19, I enlisted in the U.S Army Reserves as a Motor Transport Operator. Upon my return home, I begin my long career in the Financial Services Industry working in operations, as a registered broker, in customer service, quality specialist (you know when you call a company and you get that recording "this call is being monitored for quality assurance purposes" - yeah I was that person monitoring the call), training, managing, project management.

After being laid-off for the third time in my Financial Services career in 2010, I decided to venture into one of my favorite hobbies; makeup. I began working part-time as a freelance makeup artist, I thoroughly enjoy enhancing a woman's unique and personal beauty.

More On My Hair:

I have done several big chops to my natural kinky, curly, spirally, coily hair. The first time in 2009 and the last I BC'd (Big Chopped) bald - yes! Bald however 4 months later with about 2 1/2 inches of growth I relaxed (texlaxed) my hair. Hence my journey to hair maintaining and retaining relaxed hair.
