Envy Mei

Envy, a young Haitian-American Singer/Songwriter, was born in Brooklyn, New York. Music has always been a part of her life in one way or another. She began taking piano lessons when she was 8 years old and started singing in her church choir at age 11… all the while, falling deeper in love with music.

Her parents decided to moved to Orlando, Florida, in hopes of seeking a better educational experience for their children, after Envy finished middle school. By the time Envy entered high school, she realized her life was incomplete without music, but knew her parents expected her focus to be on academics. Envy’s solution was to spend all her spare time delving deeper into music, talking to musicians and reading all she could find.

She began writing rap verses in her senior year and after graduation was introduced to beat making. In college, she decided to pursue her passion and began recording her own music. Envy performed regularly at local venues, attracting a following that enjoyed her unique rap style and the smooth delivery of her lyrics.
