The Real Talk Project

The Real Talk Project is an interactive publishing project created by a collective of writers/bloggers. It's Post Secret at blog post lengths.

Instead of sending postcards to a physical address, send your anonymous confessions/rants/real talk to [email protected]. Use a throwaway email address -- and don't lead with "This is actually Jane Jones, I blog at..." (Yes, this has happened.)

Each Real Talk, i.e. "I Hate My Mutha", is a composite of email submissions. You will not have any rights to the content because we will never know who you are. That's the point.

So if you're not going to get credit and you're not going to get paid, what are you going to get? The chance to say what you really want to say -- without fear of retribution.

Tell us about the hardships of being beautiful or privileged. We won't shame you. Tell us what you really think about black people or gay marriage or women who breastfeed their toddlers or Lena Dunham. We can't fire you.

Submission Guidelines

A submission can be as short as 500 words or as long as 2000.

If your submission is of interest, someone may email you to get more info. The posts will be part fact, part fiction -- which is what every novel, movie, TV or reality show is. It's what we, the creative collective, do in our day jobs but now we're doing it online.

That's why YOU don't have to be a great writer. You don't have to submit a polished post. Just send your raw material -- and keep it as real as you dare.

Your Real Talk can be angry, boastful, sardonic, politically incorrect... Just don't name names. The Real Talk Project is not about revenge or outing anyone. It's about getting real -- about our collective thoughts, feelings, anger, ourselves.
