Rj Hughes

Rj Hughes creates electronic music. For years his interest in new waves of electronically expressive synths has pushed his talent to new levels. Starting out as a self taught pianist, he has grown as not only an electronic music producer but an artist overall. With several minor releases of local and international labels and collectives, regular output of his signature sound is a common theme. Using unique sounds in uncommon ways to craft new however familiar sounding tracks, he is no stranger to experimentation. Coming from 80's synth pop influences early in life in addition to hip hop culture in his late teens Rj uses aspects of both genres to create a trap synth wave style. Performing for house parties and also larger events such as art launches and functions he brings his DJing roots into play. Mixing and producing go hand in hand nowadays for the modern electronic producer, and for this young up and comer both work together to create a unique live experience.

Over the past two years, Rj has gained a local audience in Brisbane and surrounding areas as well as some interstate and international recognition from labels and collectives. Releasing his record 'That Girl' with the Future Bass Records label in 2016, he quickly gained a following on soundcloud and spread his name with a series of follow up releases, some with similar popularity.

Moving forward currently Rj is studying music further while playing local shows and juggling Dj sets on and off. Hoping to pioneer new sounds in 2017 this young producer is constantly evolving musically and artistically. Overall a futurist with artistic passion, he promises great things for the next chapter of his career.
