Together we wish to see Jesus praised by planting new gospel-centered churches in the Northeast. In July 2015, we were assessed and approved by Mission to North America (an oversight body in the Presbyterian Church in America) to pursue a church planting apprenticeship in the great cultural hub, the city of Boston.
Erik will be assisting a new congregation in the Roslindale and West Roxbury neighborhoods on the city's southwest side. This congregation, Christ the King (CTK) Roslindale/WestRoxbury began 3 years ago when a church planting family moved into the area and prayed with others that God would grow a new congregation. It has grown to 50 people faithfully serving in a pioneering church plant. An apprenticeship can best be described as "come to be sent". Erik's apprenticeship will span a three year period during which he will assist in the development of CTK-R/WR, while being trained to plant another church.
Churches are planted by a team present both physically and spiritually. We are praying that God would bring people, like you, to partner with us through prayer, encouragement, and financial giving. We are eager to get on ground and start our work in Boston. However, we need to raise financial support to get there. CTK Roslindale/West Roxbury is a small plant with limited financial resources. We are raising support as missionaries to join and assist them.
As we go we have an assuring hope. Jesus, sent by God, has died, victoriously rose, and goes with us as we are sent! We get the privilege of joining his work in Boston, and would love for you to be a part of this mission too.
