Ryan Brown

I was born and (mostly) raised in Middle Tennessee, living around the Nashville exurb of Murfreesboro. After graduating with honor from Riverdale High School, I began attending the University of Tennesee at Knoxville. From the beginning of my undergraduate career, I was very involved on campus. I served in a wide variety of leadership roles, especially in the Center for Leadership and Service. Academically, I pursued a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing with and International Business collateral. While an undergraduate, I worked for a variety of employers, including a fast-casual dining chain, a student apartment complex, and as a Lab Manager for the Office of Information Technology at UT.

During my tenure at UT, I also had the fortune to study abroad inthe summer of 2014. In mid-June, I hopped on a plane by myself and flew to Oslo, Norway. I attended BI Handelshøyskolen, otherwise known as BI Norwegian Business School, in an international cohort-style program. The program focused on the cultural and economic identities of Scandinavian countries, as well as learning about the Scandinavian Leadership Model and how to apply it in a global environment.

I firmly believe in the central tenets of values-based servant leadership, and my own personal leadership philosophy authentically embraces leading from behind. Many of my experiences have led to adopting this style of leadership. I fully embrace my strengths and know how to recognize and utilize the strengths of others.
