J.C. has unique experience in the field of event safety planning and management. He spent 18 years as Special Projects Manager for a major UK event security company managing safety at crowd gatherings around the world including Live Aid, Pink Floyd's 'The Wall' in Berlin, the funeral of Diana Princess of Wales, Pavarotti in Hyde Park and the four 120,000 capacity concerts in Brunei to celebrate the 50th birthday of the Sultan with Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder and Seal. He was responsible for crowd safety at the Royal Military Tattoo 2000 which included the national celebrations for the 100th birthday of HM Queen Mother.
In June 2001 he formed his own company specialising in planning for large crowd gatherings. He managed safety for "Koninginnenacht" (Queen's Night) in The Hague and the 350,000 capacity Dance Parade in Rotterdam. In 2002 he was appointed to take charge of stewarding and safety for Her Majesty's Golden Jubilee celebrations in London attended by 1.4 million people. He was responsible for crowd safety at the 200th anniversary "tall ships" re-enactment of the Battle of Trafalgar at Portsmouth with a 400,000 attendance. He was controller at the "Live 8" concert in Hyde Park and was Safety Officer at Huntingdon Racecourse for seven seasons as well as Twickenham Stadium for all concerts and England international rugby matches. He was co-author of the Strategic Crowd Management Plan for Liverpool City "European Capital of Culture".
In 2007 he relocated to Australia where he was retained for the APEC leader's week summit to advise on matters of risk for the meetings of 22 world leaders at Sydney Opera House. He provided safety for the filming of "Master Chef", took charge of logistics for the Special Olympics National Games, was Safety Officer at the U2 360 tour in Sydney & four concerts after the F1 Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi. After completing the second round of risk analysis workshops for nine Indian cricket stadia for the IPL he provided the venue advance safety for Roger Waters "The Wall" Australian tour before heading to London to run the multi-agency control centre for HM Queen's Diamond Jubilee. He is Safety Officer at Allphones Arena and has recently assisted Masterchef Live, Better Homes & Gardens and Taste of Melbourne. He is also lecturing to Advanced Diploma in Events Management students at two colleges in Sydney.
