We all wear an armor every now and then to keep us safe and prevent hurt. The same armor also prevents us from connecting with other human beings and being better at relationships, parenting and making choices. Brené Brown’s research helps us become aware of the different armors we wear and how to practice recovering from failure and shame, how to know whom to trust and live a wholehearted life. What’s the difference between empathy and sympathy and which one helps us feel seen and understood?
