The THiCK
The THiCK
To hear The Thick is to hear meticulous attention to detail.
Founded as an instrumental trio by guitarist Ian Villarreal, bassist Zak Lienert and drummer Bill Hutter, the Philadelphia-area band spent several years developing a dynamic sound laced with versatile rhythms and contagious melodies. This distinct sound only intensified when singer Fred Frederick joined in 2010.
Frederick's lyrics and vocals immediately completed The Thick's fresh melodies by intertwining with the established sound as an integral part of the whole.
Drawing from shared influences such as The Cure, Pink Floyd and The Doors, and also from an eclectic mix of individual influences ranging from Korn to Charles Mingus, The Thick's detailed craftsmanship weaves a musical tapestry of vibrant landscapes, populated by larger-than-life characters.
They have been playing live since February 2011 and now, they proudly present "Blank," their debut, full-length CD.
