I have maintained a vegetarian diet, adopted due to health concerns, for nearly a decade. I admit the first few months were difficult, primarily because I knew little about good vegetarian food options. Like most non-vegetarians, my first thought was, “Great, I’ll have to eat breads and salads all day.” However, friendships with other vegetarians helped me discover that I could enjoy many of my favorite food dishes using meat alternatives along with a variety of new meals and snacks.

In my search for the best tasting vegetarian foods, I have traveled to several cities and states and tried countless brands of vegetarian and vegan products. I have discovered many vegetarian and vegan gems that I would love to share.

My goal for this blog is to encourage non-vegetarians to incorporate more fruits, vegetables and meat alternatives in their diets.

As I cook more and learn more, I understand what types of vegetarian/vegan foods, products, and preparations beginning vegetarians, meat eaters, “flexitarians” and those choosing healthier diet options might enjoy. Today, my diet is rich in flavor, nutrition, and variety. I never would have imagined that being a vegetarian could be so deliciously healthy.
