The Weird and Wondrous: About
As a Biology undergraduate, I have decided to share some of my enthusiam for the world. Blogging is a new experience for me, and I’m not sure at this point exactly what form it will take or how it will develop. For now, all I can do is to set down the ideas that I have at this point in time. Hopefully, these ideas will expand and evolve with experience. If not, at least I will have had an excuse to buy a new notebook for making plans in and will have fed my stationary obsession!
As you may have guessed, I wish to explore weird and wondrous things. By this, I don’t mean bad weird. I mean amazing weird. Intriguing weird. The sort of weird that makes you want to learn more. Perhaps I will challenge ideas that certain creatures are a bad sort of weird, if they are generally considered to be ‘ugly’, ‘disgusting’, or an encumbrance.
Most of my posts will probably be about animals and plants, because these are the topics which interest me the most, but that’s not to say I will never deviate from this. I want to write about these subjects in a range of ways, from research-based posts to more creative ones. Perhaps I will also use this as a platform to riddle out possible answers to the weird and wondrous questions which like to make themselves at home inside my head. Answering questions and making discoveries about the world is after all, to me, what Biology is all about.
