Thierry Thaure

A versatile business leader with more than three decades of experience in the medical device development and manufacturing sector, Thierry Thaure most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of MaunaKea Technologies Inc. in San Jose, California. Educated at Duke University, Mr. Thaure earned his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering, with distinction, and subsequently began the first phase of his career as a Research and Development Engineer with Edwards Laboratories (now Edwards Lifesciences). Following successful terms as a Manufacturing Engineer and Clinical Trial Manager for Edwards, Thierry Thaure enrolled at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, where he pursued studies in finance and marketing. Graduating with his Master of Business Administration in 1990, Mr. Thaure went on to take a role with Guidant subsidiary Advanced Cardiovascular Systems as an International Marketing Associate. Promoted to Business Development and Acquisitions Analyst the following year, Thierry Thaure soon ascended through senior management positions at Origin Medsystems and Intuitive Surgical, spending three years as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing at the latter firm. In 2000, Mr. Thaure joined Accuray, Inc., as its Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, in which capacity he helped build the radiation oncology startup into one of the premier companies in its field.

Four years later, Thierry Thaure became President and CEO of EndoGastric Solutions, where he positioned the company as a leader in the growing practice of incisionless gastrointestinal surgery. At the end of his seven-year tenure with EndoGastric Solutions, Mr. Thaure assumed responsibilities as CEO of MaunaKea Technologies and quickly turned the underperforming U.S. division into a profitable name in the domestic market for endomicroscopic technology. In tandem with this role, Thierry Thaure served on the Board of Directors of Mauna Kea.
