Amanda "Day" Hefner
Lincoln, NE
I am a highly motivated, creative, and hard-working person with a deep and abiding passion for faith, social justice, and life. I’m one of the most persistently cheerful people you’ll ever meet. I have great communication skills and genuinely love working with people. Currently, I am on staff at the Nebraska Synod, ELCA, where I work with faith formation and youth programs, and am also interim director of Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries and staff liaison for the Justice and World Hunger committees. I also work part-time teaching English at Lincoln Literacy, and find the work I do with refugees, immigrants, and underserved native-English-speaking populations immensely rewarding. I will be starting seminary this fall with a full-tuition scholarship at the Lutheran School of Theology in Chicago, working toward a Master of Divinity degree and ordination as a pastor. I am a former Peace Corps Volunteer and a lay leader at Grace Lutheran Church in Lincoln, NE.
