Gamelihle 'Game' Bovana is a talented, multi-faceted 26-year old performer, hailing from East London, in the heart of the Eastern Cape.
He was first introduced to the wonders of the stage when he was in Grade 2, actively engaging in the Drama department in his school years. Appearing in school production after school production, accumulating numerous awards along the way, he walked out with Full Colours for Drama in his matric year, as Chairman of the Dramatic Society, along with a host of Silver, Gold & Double Gold awards & other accolades from the ELFEST Eisteddfod. He continued gracing the stage in his years at the University of the Witwatersrand, in the Wits School of Arts, graduating with a BA Honours degree in Dramatic Art in 2014.
It took 2 more years before his on-stage exploits earned him recognition, when he was nominated for (and won) a Naledi Theatre Award for "Best Performance in a Children's Theatre Production". Some of his stage highlights include portraying Ivan Lomov in Anton Chekov's 'A Marriage Proposal', Michal Katurian in Martin McDonagh's dark comedy, 'The Pillowman', & Lambert in Harold Pinter's 'Celebration'.
Adding to the impeccible resume this man possesses, he ventured into radio, joining VOW FM (Voice of Wits) in 2012, where he went on to become the host of the station's lunchtime & weekend mid-morning shows. His on-air exploits earned him an MTN Radio Award nomination in 2014. He's an energetic, bubbly, abundantly talented actor, radio presenter, voice-over artist and MC. On top of that, he's a very nice guy.
