THISSFest aims to become a leading international Singer-Songwriter Festival attracting singer-songwriters from all corners of the world and every level of achievement and experience.
The second edition of THISSFest was held from the 23rd to the 29th of June 2014 in more than 30 venues in Amsterdam, Haarlem, The Hague, Leiden, Rotterdam and Utrecht featuring 300+ musicians from 30 countries. Closing day performances took place at the THISSFest Singer-Songwriter Stage at Parkpop in The Hague, one of The Europe's oldest, most widely visited free outdoor pop music festivals.
THISSFest 2015 will take place from the 25th to the 27th of September at the Rijswijkse Schouwburg, a stunning, intimate, seated, multi-venue, state-of-the-art theater complex located minutes from The Hague city center in the heart of the Randstad conurbation, one of the largest metropolitan areas in Europe with more than 7 million inhabitants, setting the stage for THISSFest to become one of Europe's most international musical events. Nestled between Leiden and Rotterdam, Rijswijk is easily accessible to all forms of transportation including two airports, major bus, tram and train lines and is a short bike ride from The Hague city center, Leidschendam-Voorburg and Delft.
STAGES
THISSFest 2015 is offering two very distinct types of performances conceived to maximize your concert experience:
MAINSTAGE SHOWS—highlighting songwriting artistry complemented by the live interpretation of the songs by the artists who wrote them. Mainstage shows feature eight individual 30 or 40-minute performances.
SECRET SINGER-SONGWRITER SESSIONS—held in the smaller, more intimate of the two theatres—connecting the artist to the audience in a way that is up close, personal and spontaneous. Each session is packed with original music, stories and an opportunity for the audience to interact with the artists by making comments or asking questions related to the theme of each session. Sessions Stage features four 20-minute performances and three 45-minute masterclass / storytellers performances.
